The Basket Strainer from IPS Automation is an industrial pipeline filtration device designed to
remove unwanted solid particles from process fluids before they reach downstream equipment.
It uses a removable perforated or wire-mesh basket element to capture debris such as rust,
scale, sand, dirt, and other foreign particles while allowing clean liquid or gas to continue
through the pipeline. Basket strainers are commonly installed upstream of pumps, valves, flow
meters, heat exchangers, compressors, regulators, and other sensitive equipment to prevent
clogging, wear, and process interruption.
Basket strainers are especially suitable for applications with higher flow rates and larger
debris-holding requirements compared with compact strainers. The basket design provides a
larger filtration area, which helps reduce pressure drop and allows easier cleaning through the
top cover. Depending on the process requirement, basket strainers can be supplied in simplex,
duplex, or customized designs for continuous or batch operation in manufacturing and process
industries.
