The Transparent Level Gauge from IPS Automation is a direct visual level measurement
instrument designed to monitor liquid level, interface level, colour, and clarity inside tanks,
vessels, boilers, separators, and industrial process equipment. It uses two transparent glass
plates mounted on opposite sides of a metallic chamber, allowing operators to see the actual
liquid level through the gauge body. This makes it suitable for applications where direct visibility
of the process fluid is required, especially in high-pressure, high-temperature, corrosive,
coloured, foaming, or interface liquid services.
Unlike reflex level gauges, transparent level gauges allow the operator to observe the real
appearance of the process fluid. This is useful when monitoring liquid colour changes,
contamination, separation between two immiscible liquids, or interface level such as oil and
water. For difficult viewing conditions, an illuminator can be installed behind the gauge to
improve visibility, while mica or protective shields can be used to protect the glass from
corrosive fluids, steam, or high-temperature service.
