The Float and Board Type Level Gauge from IPS Automation is a mechanical level indication
system designed for continuous visual monitoring of liquid levels in large storage tanks and
vessels. It works on the buoyancy principle, where a float moves up and down with the liquid
level inside the tank. This movement is transferred through a wire rope, pulley arrangement,
and counterweight system to an external pointer that travels along a graduated board, giving
operators a clear and easy-to-read level indication from outside the tank.
This type of level gauge is especially suitable for large non-pressurized storage tanks,
including water, oil, chemical, acid, and furnace oil tanks. Since the system is primarily
mechanical, it does not require electrical power for local indication, making it a practical and
cost-effective solution for tank farms, remote installations, utility tanks, and industrial storage
applications where simple and reliable level visibility is required.
