Magnetic Level Gauge

The Magnetic Level Gauge is a highly reliable and precise instrument designed for the continuous measurement of liquid levels in various industrial applications. This robust device provides clear, real-time visibility of fluid levels, ensuring accurate monitoring and control.

The Magnetic Level Gauge from IPS Automation is a reliable visual level measurement
instrument used for continuous liquid level indication in tanks, vessels, boilers, separators,
reactors, and industrial process equipment. It works on the principle of communicating vessels,
buoyancy, and magnetic coupling: the liquid level inside the external chamber matches the
vessel level, while a magnetic float moves with the liquid and operates an external bi-colour
indicator. This allows operators to read the level clearly without direct glass contact with the
process fluid.
Unlike conventional sight glass level gauges, magnetic level gauges use a sealed metallic
chamber and an externally mounted magnetic indicator. This design improves visibility, reduces
glass breakage risk, and supports safer operation in high-pressure, high-temperature, corrosive,
toxic, or hazardous liquid applications. They can also be integrated with level transmitters and
switches for remote monitoring, alarms, and automation system connectivity.

Clear and Safe Visual Indication

The external magnetic indicator provides a bright, easy-to-read level display, allowing operators to check liquid level from a distance without direct exposure to the process fluid.

Customizable for Project Requirements

Weld Pad Level Gauges can be customized according to vessel radius, measuring range, body material, glass type, gasket material, pressure rating, temperature rating, viewing design, and process media compatibility.

Improved Safety Compared with Sight Glass

Because the process fluid is contained inside a metallic chamber instead of a long exposed glass tube, magnetic level gauges reduce glass breakage risk and help minimize potential leak points in demanding applications.

Low Maintenance Operation

With removable screens and optional quick-opening covers, TEE strainers allow easier cleaning or replacement of the straining element, helping reduce downtime and maintenance effort.

No External Power Required for Local Indication

The local indication works mechanically through buoyancy and magnetic coupling, so the gauge can provide continuous visual level reading without electrical power unless optional transmitters or switches are added.

Reliable Level Measurement for Critical Processes

Magnetic level gauges provide rugged, continuous, and easy-to-read level indication for critical tanks and vessels, helping improve process visibility, operational safety, and plant reliability.

Suitable for Harsh Process Conditions

Available in stainless steel, carbon steel, duplex, Monel, Hastelloy, Inconel, and other materials, external chambers can be designed for corrosive, high-pressure, high-temperature, and hazardous process environments.

Supports Remote Monitoring and Alarms

Optional level transmitters and magnetic switches can be mounted externally on the chamber to provide 4–20 mA output, digital communication, high/low level alarms, pump control, or integration with PLC, SCADA, and DCS systems.
